We’re excited to announce that Osama Bedier, founder and CEO of Poynt, will deliver the keynote address at PF WORLD 2019 on April 2 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, Calif.
Poynt operates an open platform for smart POS terminals that includes hardware, software and an app ecosystem. The company was recently named as one of the Forbes Fintech 50, an annual listing of the top innovators changing the way we relate to our money. According to that article, Poynt is on track to process $20 billion in transactions over the next year.
With a deep passion for improving lives through technology, Bedier has spent the last two decades pioneering consumer internet, e-commerce and payments services. Prior to founding Poynt, he served as the vice president of payments at Google, where he created the Google Wallet. Before that, he ran product and engineering at PayPal.
In a press release announcing a round of funding for Poynt last year, Bedier said, “Smartphones changed the way we search, buy and communicate — not only because the hardware was beautiful, but because iOS and Android transformed a ubiquitous utility into a platform for innovation where developers could build once and distribute everywhere.”
“Our vision is to transform retail by becoming that innovation platform for payment terminals everywhere. We give developers a technical canvas to build the experiences merchants and their customers have come to expect – and ultimately, make visiting your local store the personal experience it was always meant to be,” he continued.
PF WORLD is the first-ever standalone event focused exclusively on the payment facilitator business. The first day of the two-day 2019 event will feature speakers and panel presentations about the PF market and the economics of becoming a payment facilitator. The second day will dive deeper into specific topics related to operating as a PF, such as compliance and risk management.
Keep watching – we’ll keep you updated as we finalize more PF WORLD speakers. Until then, check out the event web site to find more details and to register.
